Penguin pooh

I’ve often thought about studying something that would involve lots of expeditions to far away, interesting places. Geology, glaciology, zoology or some other impressive sounding ology that would allow me to go on exciting trips that are funded and have the virtue of furthering science and knowledge, although are secretely about adventure and experience.

Here is the impressive result of one such intellectual expedition, a paper on the “Pressures produced when penguins pooh”. Its full of choice quotes and interesting facts, did you know that penguin shite has a similar viscosity to olive oil? Neither did I.  My favourite line has to be the following;

“…anyone who has watched a penguin fire a “shot” from it’s rear end must have wondered about the pressure the bird generates…”

eh yeah, that was the first thing to pop into my head as I sit watching a penguin take a shot from its rear.

Now, to finish my research proposal to examine the scratching habits of the artic fox.
